About DHHR LABS

The DHHR Infant Testing Lab screens all infants born in West Virginia for various syndromes and disorders through blood spot specimens collected at hospitals and birthing centers and are sent to their facilities housed right here at the WV Regional Technology Park for testing.

The Tech Park serves as a convenient location for WV DHHR’s Newborn Screening Laboratory for a variety of reasons, including:

• Convenient location with close proximity to popular breakfast and lunch spots, both on campus and in downtown South Charleston 

• Spacious laboratories and offices 

• 24-Hour maintenance crew on duty 365 days per year 

• WVRTP team of professionals, including technicians to support the needs of their lab in the areas of electrical, plumbing, pipefitting, certification of laboratory hoods and much more!

• Redundant utilities help ensure the reliability of their lab and its critical work
