Happy New Year from the West Virginia Regional Technology Park!

As we enter a new year, the West Virginia Regional Technology Park would like to reflect on the achievements from last year and look forward to accomplishing new ambitions in 2024.

2023 HIGHLIGHTS

  • Finished 2023 with no OSHA recordable accidents or Days Away From Work injuries, marking 12 years with no recordable injuries

  • Helicon Chemical Company opened operations at Tech Park

  • Hosted Sudip Parikh Ph.D., Chief Executive Officer and Executive Publisher, Science Journals, for a legislative event focused on investing in research and innovation

  • Marshall Advanced Manufacturing Center opened a new training facility

  • Over 1,000 students and community groups visited Science on a Sphere and the National Weather Service Local Forecast Office

  • Red Carpet Tour of West Virginia economic development campaign named “Best of West Virginia Bronze” by PRSA West Virginia and won Awards of Merit at PRSA East Central District’s Diamond Awards

  • The City of South Charleston completed the earth movement project at Timberlands, creating 12 flat, developable acres for Tech Park growth

  • The State of West Virginia announced Tech Park as the location for new modernized labs for state agencies

  • Welcomed visits from Under Secretary of Commerce Marisa Lago and other dignitaries

  • Installation of new switch gears, automatic chemical feed systems and water lines that ensure the reliability and redundancy of park infrastructure

  • Facility buildouts in existing lab and manufacturing spaces provided on-site solutions for tenant growth

  • Roofing was replaced at Building 2000, the Tech Park's largest building, home to modern office space and BridgeValley Community and Technical College

  • Equipment updates to ensure the reliability of the park’s emergency alarm system

  • Continuous operational improvement and sustainability by installing electronic devices on the park’s fire water tank for temperature readings and fluid levels

Together, with our tenants and community partners, the Tech Park continues to see tremendous growth. From maintaining a reliable and redundant infrastructure to welcoming new companies and helping existing tenants expand, we are excited about the endeavors in our future. Here's to another year of collaborative success, shared accomplishments, and the continuous pursuit of growing innovation, science and technology in our region!
